About Travel Host Greg Schwem

In 1989 Greg Schwem never envisioned a career as a travel host.  Instead, he left a promising career as a television news reporter to pursue his love of stand-up comedy.  After a few years of playing comedy clubs around the country, Greg found his niche as a corporate entertainer, making Fortune 500 companies and professional business associations laugh at themselves.  Indeed, Greg’s audiences have included Microsoft, McDonald’s, Southwest Airlines, IBM and even the CIA!   HuffPost referred to Greg as “Your boss’ favorite comedian.”

When the pandemic hit, and corporate employees retreated to their homes, Greg developed a new presentation, You Can’t Quarantine Laughter, which he delivered virtually to audiences worldwide, including a group of school teachers from Ukraine.  “They wanted to pay me via wire transfer,” Greg recalls.  “My wife got suspicious when she saw a Post-it Note that said, “Send bank account info to Russia.”

Greg’s clean material and family-friendly onstage presence has also made him a sought-after concert opener, working in front of stars such as Keith Urban, Styx, Enrique Iglesias and Celine Dion. “Celine was very nervous,” Greg recalled.  “And understandably so.  I mean, she’d never closed one of my shows before!”  Greg’s TV credits include stints on Comedy Central, VH-1 and the A&E Network.

When not making audiences laugh, or crashing in home sharing pads, Greg writes a bi-weekly humor column for the Chicago Tribune syndicate. His writings also have appeared on the Today Show website and HuffPost.  Greg is the author of two Amazon best sellers: Text Me If You’re Breathing: Observations, Frustrations and Life Lessons From a Low-Tech Dad  and The Road to Success Goes Through the Salad Bar: A Pile of BS (Business Stories) From a Corporate Comedian
